Duan van 't Slot

Duan van 't Slot has extensive work experience in the energy storage industry. Duan is currently the CEO of Volstora, a company they co-founded that specializes in developing battery systems for the energy storage market. Under their leadership, Volstora has grown to have 18 employees and has successfully installed over 10MWh of active installations. Prior to this, Duan served as the Head of Engineering EMEA at Lead Crystal™ Batteries, where they led development teams and collaborated with various departments to deliver reliable systems to telecommunications and industrial customers. Duan also worked as a Product Development Manager at Inrada Group, focusing on innovative renewable technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning, Internet-of-Things networks, and battery management systems. Additionally, Duan has experience as an Embedded Design Engineer during their time as a private consultant.

Duan van 't Slot's education history begins in 2010 when they attended Cambridge AS, obtaining a High School degree. From 2011 to 2012, Duan also studied at the George Flight Training Center and obtained a Licence in Private Pilot's Licence. During the same period, from 2010 to 2012, Duan pursued a Certificate in Music Theory and Composition at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.

In 2013, Duan obtained a Certificate in Zertifikat Deutsch from Aachen University of Applied Sciences - FH Aachen. Following this, from 2014 to 2018, Duan attended Stellenbosch University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Duan has completed several certifications. In 2017, they obtained a GCMS Trading Diploma from Global Capital Market Solutions (GCMS), and in 2018, they completed a course in Financial Trading and Investment from the Academy of Financial Trading. More recently, in 2021, Duan acquired various certifications including Introduction to Operations Management, Introduction to Corporate Finance, Introduction to Financial Accounting, Introduction to Marketing, and Managing Social and Human Capital, all from Coursera Course Certificates. They also obtained a certification in Keurmeester elektrische installaties NEN1010/NEN3140 from Ingenium dé Opleider.
