Harvey Chong

Harvey Chong has over 16 years of experience in software engineering, primarily in developing data pipelines for search and native ads. Harvey has worked at companies such as Zephyr AI, Carta, Yahoo, Verizon Media, Oath, Motorola, and Britannia Inc. In their most recent role at Carta, Harvey worked as a staff engineer where they evangelized Kafka adoption and owned Kafka infrastructure using Confluent, Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Datadog. Prior to that, Harvey has held various roles such as Principal Software Engineer, Senior Principal Software Engineer, and Principal Data Engineer, where they have led teams, designed data pipelines, and collaborated with business teams. Harvey has experience with GDPR, privacy-oriented search products, and has mentored junior engineers.

Harvey Chong earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Purdue University between the years of 2001 and 2005.
