Gary Cleave

Gary Cleave has a diverse work experience spanning several companies in the shipping and logistics industry. Gary started their career at Furness Withy Shipping (OOCL) in 1986 as a Traffic Management role. Gary then moved on to Lykes Lines, where they held various management positions from 1987 to 1997. In 1997, they joined Canadian Pacific Ships as a Director of National Sales, responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships. From 2002 to 2006, they held additional management positions at Canadian Pacific Ships. In 2006, they joined Hapag-Lloyd as the Finance Director for the Area Gulf Pacific, overseeing various financial and operational functions. Gary later took on roles as SVP of Sales & Customer Service and SVP of Area South East at Hapag-Lloyd. From 2021 to 2022, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of Purfresh, focusing on optimizing food freshness in the supply chain. Currently, they hold the position of Sales Director at ZIM Integrated Shipping Services, starting in 2023.

Gary Cleave received education in the field of Law relating to overseas trade, Trade and payments, Transportation and documentation, Marketing from London Metropolitan University. Gary obtained a degree from the Institute of Export, Institute of Freight Forwarders, and Society of Shipping Executives.
