Matthew McShane has a diverse work experience spanning over ten years. Matthew started their career as a Web Student Worker at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where they developed course websites and created custom HTML pages. Matthew then worked as a Web Design Intern at the Office of the New York State Attorney General, where they assisted in the development of the Attorney General's website and created interactive flash maps.
After that, McShane joined Capital Communications Federal Credit Union as a Web Technical Support Associate, where they designed, built, and tested HTML, CSS, and JavaScript based websites. Matthew also played a role in the development and implementation of Joomla! powered websites.
McShane then transitioned to FlightView, where they served as a Visual Designer and Project Manager. In this role, they designed airport mobile websites and flight information displays, produced air traffic maps and weather displays, and was responsible for the UI and UX design of web, mobile, and tablet applications.
Next, McShane worked at meQuilibrium as a Product Designer, where they provided UI and UX deliverables, wireframes, and mockups for web and mobile applications. Matthew also developed HTML/CSS prototypes and created digital assets, and was in charge of establishing brand guidelines and the look/feel of the web and mobile applications.
Following meQuilibrium, McShane joined Six Red Marbles as a UX/UI Designer. Here, they participated in all phases of the product development life cycle, including product ideation, UX and UI design, user research, and acceptance testing. Matthew also produced low and high fidelity wireframes, created functional prototypes, and designed interactive experiences for web and mobile environments.
After Six Red Marbles, McShane joined ConvergeHEALTH by Deloitte as a UX/UI Designer 2. In this role, they created and maintained user personas, user journey maps, site maps, low-fidelity wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, data visualizations, and prototypes. Matthew also brought user-centered design methods to digital solutions and established design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
McShane's most recent position is at Zixi - Broadcast QoS Over the Open Internet, where they work as a Senior UX/UI Designer and Front End Developer. In this role, they led the redesign of ZEN Master, a live video orchestration and telemetry control plane application. Matthew also played a primary role in migrating the original AngularJS application to a more modern version of Angular. McShane is responsible for planning, designing, and developing new features using HTML, CSS3, SCSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Angular, and Node JS.
Matthew McShane earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Communication from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) between the years 2005 and 2009.
