Mauro Moraes is a seasoned professional in veterinary science with extensive experience in vaccine development and virology. Currently serving as a Senior Principal Scientist at Zoetis Inc. since August 2016, Mauro specializes in the discovery, development, and licensing of viral, vectored, and sub-unit vaccines for various species. Prior to this role, Mauro held the position of Manager of Vectored Vaccines at CEVA BIOMUNE from June 2011 to August 2016, focusing on vaccine development for poultry and cattle, while also serving as a liaison and adjunct professor at San Diego State University. Mauro’s career includes significant contributions as a Research Microbiologist at USDA-ARS, where the focus was on vectored vaccine development and antiviral discovery for livestock. Furthermore, Mauro has academic experience as a Professor at UFV, specializing in veterinary virology, viral diseases, and biotechnology. Educational qualifications include a DVM in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, obtained between 1988 and 1993.
