Orhan Yılmaz graduated from the Chemical Engineering Department of Gazi University in 1984. After completing his post-graduate and graduate studies in the same University, Yılmaz started his career as an engineer at the boron and acid factories of Etibank in 1986. He worked as chief engineer, principal engineer, and organization manager in the same company before assuming the post of deputy manager in 2003. And in 2004, Yılmaz was appointed as General Manager and at the same time Chairman of Eti Maden, the biggest mining corporation in Turkey, which position he maintained until 2015. Yılmaz worked as a Counsellor at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources between 2015 and 2017 and was appointed as Zorlu Mining Group President in January 2017.
