Michael Midmer

Michael Midmer has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael started their career in 1999 as an Investor Relations Manager at Cardiome Pharma Corp before moving onto a role as a Business Development Manager at KS Biomedix Holdings Plc from 2001 to 2003.

In 2004, Michael joined Rosetta Capital (Canada) Limited as a Director, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they gained experience in investment management.

From 2013 to 2016, Michael worked as the Director of Genomic Applications Programs at Genome Canada. Here, they played a key role in the implementation of genomics projects.

In 2016, Michael took on the role of Entrepreneur-in-Residence at MaRS Innovation for two years. This position allowed him to support and provide guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Finally, since September 2016, Michael has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer at Zucara Therapeutics Inc. Zucara is focused on developing the first drug to prevent hypoglycemia in Type 1 diabetes patients.

Throughout their career, Michael Midmer has demonstrated expertise in various areas, including investment management, genomics, and entrepreneurship.

Michael Midmer pursued their education in a chronological manner. Michael first attended the University of Toronto from 1997 to 1999, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular Biology. Following this, from 2003 to 2004, Michael enrolled at Imperial College London, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree specializing in Corporate Finance and Biopharma.
