Anna has an MSc in Cancer Biology and Therapy from the University of Leeds and a BSc (Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Bath. As part of her Masters research project, Anna characterised the ability of an omega-3 fatty acid to modulate immunosuppressive signalling in colorectal cancer cell line models in the context of immune evasion and resistance to immunotherapy. Anna also completed an undergraduate placement year at LifeArc, where she validated an anti-cancer drug target in breast cancer. During her placement year, Anna presented a poster at ELRIG’s CRISPR in Drug Discovery conference detailing a CRISPR-Cas9 lethality assay that she used to simultaneously validate multiple isoforms of the target.
Before joining Zyme, Anna worked as an editor, specialising in clinical oncology. As part of her role, she gained experience editing and formatting journal articles alongside cover letter generation prior to submission to the target journal.
