Laurence Madera is a Senior Scientist in Oncology at Zymeworks Inc. since April 2016, previously holding the position of Scientist. Prior to this role, Laurence served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Dalhousie University from January 2013 to April 2016, focusing on targeted delivery strategies to enhance the cytotoxic effects of natural antimicrobial peptides against breast carcinomas. Laurence's earlier research experience includes a PhD candidacy at The Center for Microbial Diseases and Immunity Research at UBC from May 2006 to December 2012, where the investigation centered on the regulation of human innate immune responses by antimicrobial peptides. Laurence's educational background includes a PhD in Immunology and a BSc in Microbiology & Immunology, both from The University of British Columbia, as well as an International Baccalaureate from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School.
