Nicole Afacan

Principal Scientist & Group Lead, In Vitro Pharmacology Multispecific Antibody Therapeutics at Zymeworks

Nicole Afacan is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in immunology and pharmacology. Currently serving as Principal Scientist & Group Lead in In Vitro Pharmacology for Multispecific Antibody Therapeutics at Zymeworks Inc. since April 2016, Nicole has progressed through various roles including Senior Scientist, Scientist, and Associate Scientist. Prior experience includes a Ph.D. candidacy at The University of British Columbia, where research focused on cellular metabolism and the activity of innate defense regulator peptides. Earlier roles include characterizing bacterial glycosylation enzymes at the University of Alberta and work in procurement and data analysis at Alberta Health Services and Provincial Laboratories. Nicole holds a Ph.D. in Immunology from The University of British Columbia and a Bachelor's degree in Immunology and Infection from the University of Alberta.
