Carolyn Wong Simpkins

Carolyn Wong Simpkins, MD, PhD, FACP, is a physician, health technology executive, and health system transformation leader.

As Zynx Health’s Vice President of Product, Carolyn brings deep insight into clinical culture and workflows learned first hand while practicing medicine in a wide range of clinical settings and health systems. She combines this with a keen understanding of health policy and systems, gleaned from time spent on the U.S. House of Representatives Ways and Means Health subcommittee staff, followed by years working on developing health system transformation programs and solutions for clients around the world while at the UK-based BMJ. Prior to Zynx, she managed product, clinical strategy, and roadmap at Hive Networks, as well as serving as Chief Medical Informatics Officer at Health Catalyst where she accelerated the infusion of clinical insight into products and helped shape machine learning algorithms that could inform clinical decision-making.

Carolyn completed her internal medicine residency training at Johns Hopkins. She holds an MD and PhD from Duke, and an undergraduate degree from Stanford. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
