Thomas Morrell

Thomas Morrell has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Thomas is currently working at AdvisorEngine as the Product Design Lead for their Wealth Management Platform. Prior to joining AdvisorEngine, Thomas worked at Prudential Financial as a Lead Product Designer and Senior UX Designer, where they were responsible for improving the Prudential Retirement mobile app and leading a small team.

Before their time at Prudential, Thomas worked at IDT Corporation as a UX Manager, where they focused on enhancing the customer experience through various digital touchpoints. Thomas managed a globally dispersed team and also served as the scrum master for their flagship PINless calling software.

Thomas also has experience at Aon Hewitt as a UI/UX Lead Developer, where they directed the overall UX architecture, UI design, and brand design for web-based applications. Additionally, they worked closely with executive and development teams to set the vision and roadmap for digital products.

Before joining Aon Hewitt, Thomas ran their own design studio called Swell Media Group as the Owner and Creative Director. Thomas worked with clients in various industries, managing branding and digital marketing projects. Thomas also had experience as a Senior Graphic Designer at Zeff Design, where they managed multiple projects and junior designers.

Early in their career, Thomas worked as an Art Director at Tourneau and as a Graphic Designer at Department.x. Thomas also provided freelance UX design and art direction services through their company, Thomas Morrell Design, and worked with clients such as Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Aon Hewitt, and Zabar's.

Thomas Morrell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Studio from Coastal Carolina University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In 2016, they attended UC San Diego Extended Studies and completed a specialization in Human Computer Interaction. Additionally, Thomas obtained multiple certifications from Coursera Course Certificates, including the Interaction Design Capstone Project, Interaction Design Specialization, Designing, Running, and Analyzing Experiments, User Experience: Research & Prototyping, Information Design, Social Computing, Design Principles: an Introduction, Human-Centered Design: an Introduction, and Input and Interaction. These certifications were obtained between 2016 and 2017.
