Derek Lyons

Derek Lyons has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Derek is currently working as the Director of Business Development at Aeronix since June 2021. Prior to this, they founded and served as the CEO of Beyond the Drone, where they provided strategic advisory, business development, and capture planning services for companies interested in integrating Unmanned Aircraft System technologies. Derek also worked as a Manufacturing Representative at NextVision Stabilized Systems Ltd. In addition, Derek has worked as a Sales Consultant and Strategic Advisor at BirdsEyeView Aerobotics, Prioria Robotics, and SmartC2. Derek served as the VP of Sales and Marketing at Prioria Robotics from April 2008 to December 2015. Derek also has experience as a Sales and Business Development Consultant at Air View Consulting. Apart from their professional career, they have held leadership positions in organizations such as Alachua County Emerging Leaders and Advertising Federation of Gainesville. Derek started their professional journey as a Fraternity Brother at Kappa Alpha Psi and was associated with the organization from 1988 to 2011.
