Juan Diego Bernal Fernández

Juan Diego Bernal Fernández has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Juan Diego currently serves on the Board of Directors at Open Cosmos. Prior to this, they held a role as the Managing Director of A&G Energy Transition Tech Fund, where they were responsible for leading the Energy Transition and Venture Capital area of the company. Juan Diego also has experience working in academia, serving as an Honorary Fellow and Associate Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where they conducted research in the fields of Non-Linear Dynamics, Chaos, and Complex Systems. Additionally, they have held various positions at Repsol, including Senior Product Manager of Energy Transition, Head of Origination Corporate Venture Capital, and Renewable Generation Manager. In these roles, they were involved in business development, product portfolio management, and evaluating potential investments in start-ups in the Energy and O&G sectors. Juan Diego Bernal Fernández has a strong background in technology, energy transition, and venture capital.

Juan Diego Bernal Fernández has a diverse education history spanning over several years. In 2001, they began studying at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, where they obtained a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. From 2006 to 2007, they pursued a Master's degree in O&G and Petrochemistry at the Instituto Superior de la Energía (ISE). In 2010, they returned to the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos to pursue a Master's degree in Physics, which they completed in 2012.

Around six years later, in 2014, Juan Diego Bernal Fernández began their doctoral studies in Physics at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. This journey led him to achieve a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Physics in 2021.

Throughout their education, Juan Diego Bernal Fernández also focused on developing their skills in other disciplines. In 2018 and 2019, they attended the IE Business School, where they completed the Advanced Management Program in Business, Management, and Financial studies.

Additionally, Juan Diego Bernal Fernández acquired further knowledge and expertise by obtaining a certification in "The Data Scientist's Toolbox" from Coursera Course Certificates in November 2016.
