Akuity is a Sunnyvale, CA-based business founded by Argo co-creators Hong Wang, Jesse Suen, and Alexander Matyushentsev. Hong, Jesse, and Alex were founding engineers at Applatix which open-sourced the Argo project in 2017. The business is experiencing tremendous growth and remains true to its commitment in Open Source; they will invest in what’s needed to foster the project’s growth. This includes continuing their contributions to the project, supporting users with their issues, facilitating discussions and meetings, and promoting Argo every chance they get.

The Opportunity

As the Junior Technical Marketing Specialist at Akuity, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with developers and platform engineers, advocating for our platform, and fostering a thriving community around our products and services.

We’re looking for someone who will be able to keep deadlines and help in creating technical marketing campaigns and activities. At the same time we’re looking for someone who can learn fast and come up with ideas for content as well as creating various formats (blog posts, videos, webinars, etc.).

This position is best described as a confluence of Developer Advocate, Developer Experience, and Technical Marketing. You Will

• Actively engage with developers and platform engineers through various channels, such as forums, social media, Slack channels, Discord, conferences, and meetups, to build and nurture relationships within the community.
• Create high-quality technical content, including blog posts, tutorials, sample code, demos, videos, and documentation, to educate and inspire developers and platform engineers to use Akuity’s platform, products, and services.
• Serve as a passionate advocate for Akuity's platform and technologies by delivering compelling presentations, workshops, and demos at events and conferences.
• Gather feedback from developers and platform engineers in order to relay insights to internal teams to help improve products, documentation, and end user experience. Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and marketing teams to align outreach efforts with business objectives.
• Provide technical assistance and support to developers and platform engineers by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and offering guidance on best practices for integrating Akuity's Platform, APIs, SDKs, and any other tools.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in order to share knowledge with the team to enhance collective expertise.

About You

• You have practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps or related field
• You are familiar with the CI/CD processes
• You are familiar with Argo CD and/or GitOps
• You are familiar with Kubernetes
• You have relevant communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Previous experience in developer relations, technical writing, or public speaking is a plus.
• You are naturally curious and creative
• You are not afraid to come up with new ideas and see them through
• You are enthusiastic about working with a diverse, global team of professionals across multiple time zones (asynchronously)
