Giacomo Salvadore

Senior Vice President, Head Of Clinical Development, Neurology at Alector

Giacomo Salvadore has a diverse and extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical field. Giacomo is currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical Development for Neurology at Alector since 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Vice President of Translational Medicine at Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 2021 to 2023.

From 2013 to 2021, Salvadore worked at The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson, first as the Senior Director of Neuroscience Experimental Medicine, where they led the clinical development of various compounds, and later as the Director of the same department. Giacomo gained around three years of experience in US medical affairs for Spravato during their tenure.

Before joining Johnson & Johnson, Salvadore was the Director of Neuroscience Biomarkers at Johnson & Johnson from 2010 to 2013. Their work experience also includes a position as a Research Fellow at the NIH, where they focused on ketamine for MDD and bipolar depression and authored numerous high-profile publications. Giacomo received the NARSAD Young Investigator Award during their fellowship. Before that, Salvadore was a Resident in Psychiatry at Universita di Roma Tor Vergata from 2002 to 2005.

Giacomo Salvadore began their education journey in 1995 at the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where they pursued a degree in Medicine. Giacomo successfully completed their undergraduate program in 2001, earning an M.D. degree. Following this, they went on to enroll in the Psychiatry Residency Program at the same institution, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, in 2002. Giacomo Salvadore dedicated three years to this program, completing it in 2005 and achieving the esteemed title of Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). Through their educational experiences, Salvadore specialized in the field of Psychiatry, focusing on providing medical care and support in this area.
