Alan Jones

Alan Jones has extensive work experience in the accounting and finance industry. Alan started their career as a Staff Auditor at Ernst & Young in 1993 and worked their way up to become a Partner in Assurance & Advisory Business Services. During their time at Ernst & Young, they also served as the Global AABS Knowledge Leader.

In 2009, Alan joined Alpha Natural Resources as the SVP & Controller and later became the SVP - Chief Accounting Officer. Alan worked at Alpha Natural Resources until 2016 when they joined Contura Energy as the SVP - Technical Accounting. Alan then worked at Mission Coal Company as the VP - Accounting from 2017 to 2019.

Currently, Alan holds the position of VP - Technical Accounting and Projects at Alpha Metallurgical Resources, where they have been working since 2019.

From 1990 to 1992, Alan Jones attended Virginia Commonwealth University - School of Business, where they obtained a B.S. degree in Accounting.
