Geoffrey Garrison

Geoffrey Garrison has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Geoffrey started their career as a Project Manager at Accutite Environmental Engineering from 1994 to 1996. Geoffrey then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 1996 to 2002. During this time, they conducted research on terrestrial groundwater discharge into marine waters and collaborated with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply for coastal zone management.

From 2003 to 2005, Geoffrey worked as a Research Faculty at the University of Washington. There, they studied two mass extinction events that occurred millions of years ago by analyzing the elemental and stable isotope chemistry of terrestrial and seafloor deposits.

In 2005, they joined URS Corporation as a Project Manager, specializing in managing interdisciplinary teams and overseeing large-scale environmental projects. Geoffrey worked in this role until 2010.

Afterwards, Geoffrey worked as a Senior Geochemist at Calera Corporation from 2010 to 2012, where they supported the research and development of sustainable building materials that use and sequester carbon dioxide.

Starting from 2012, Geoffrey took on multiple roles concurrently. Geoffrey worked at GeoEngineers as a Senior Geochemist Consultant, responsible for various environmental and hydrogeologic projects. Geoffrey also joined AltaRock Energy as a Senior Geologist and Project Manager, where they contributed to the development of advanced geothermal technologies.

In 2017, Geoffrey became the Executive Director at HOTROCK ENERGY RESEARCH ORGANIZATION (HERO). In this role, they led initiatives to expand geothermal production through new technology commercialization and pilot project development. Geoffrey also managed project development and execution, including fundraising and proposal-writing.

Lastly, in June 2019, Geoffrey took on the role of Vice President of Research and Development at AltaRock Energy. Geoffrey contributed their expertise to further develop proprietary technologies for creating geothermal reservoirs using Engineered Geothermal Systems (EGS).

Geoffrey Garrison holds a PhD in Geology and Geophysics, which was obtained from the University of Hawaii at Manoa between 1996 and 2002. Before that, they completed their Master of Science degree in Earth Systems from Stanford University from 1992 to 1994. Geoffrey'seducational journey began at Stanford University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from 1989 to 1992. In addition to their academic qualifications, Geoffrey has also acquired various certifications such as HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response) with a 40-hour Worker and 8-hour Supervisor designation from OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Moreover, they hold a license as a Geologist in the State of Washington.
