Alice Mullis is the Director of Development at American Battlefield Trust. Alice has over ten years of experience in the nonprofit sector, specializing in fundraising and marketing.
Alice began their career as an intern in the Department of the Curator at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Alice then worked as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Maryland before becoming a Funding Officer at the Furniture Recycling Project. In this role, Alice was responsible for managing all grant funding, including researching foundation prospects, writing development plans, preparing budgets, and monitoring money received. Alice also oversaw the charity's marketing efforts, creating promotional materials, writing press releases, representing the organization at meetings, and updating the website.
In October 2010, Alice joined SOME (So Others Might Eat) as a Development Assistant. In this role, they managed the acknowledgement letter process of major gifts and gifts made in honor or memory of someone. Alice also supported the Development Department in creating direct mail appeals, writing grant applications, representing SOME at Combined Federal Campaign fairs, running events, updating the website, and with the planned giving program.
Alice joined the American Battlefield Trust in May 2011 as the Director of Development. In this role, they oversee all aspects of fundraising for the organization, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grants, and special events. Alice is also responsible for leading the development team and working with the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic planning for growth.
