Bill Stokes, CMB, CFA has a rich and extensive work experience in the mortgage and financial industry. Bill started their career at Wachovia Mortgage Corporation in 1980, where they served as the VP of Secondary Marketing until 1986. Bill then moved to Knutson Mortgage Corporation, where they held the role of SVP of Secondary Marketing from 1986 to 1988. Afterwards, Stokes joined American Home Funding as the EVP of Secondary Marketing from 1988 to 1995. Bill then transitioned to Wachovia (Evergreen Investments), A Wells Fargo Company, and served as the VP of Institutional Sales from 1995 to 1997. Bill was later promoted to SVP & Director, a role they held from 1997 to 2001. Bill continued their tenure at the company as the SVP & Director from 2001 to 2009. Finally, Stokes became a part of American Security Mortgage Corp in 2011 and has held various positions in the company, including Owner & Executive Vice President, EVP, and Owner & President.
Bill Stokes, CMB, CFA, received their AB in Economics from Davidson College where they studied from 1973 to 1977. During their time at Davidson College, they also attended the University of East Anglia in 1975-1976 to further their studies in Economics. Prior to attending college, Bill Stokes completed their high school education at Woodberry Forest School from 1970 to 1973. In addition to their formal education, Stokes has obtained certifications as a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) from the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) from the CFA Institute.
