Position Summary

The VP, People and Culture for Anchor will lead the overall people function including recruiting, culture and engagement, compensation and benefits, performance management, learning & development, and employee relations while working closely with Anchor’s leadership team in support of Anchor’s overall business and talent goals. This role is not remote and will be expected to come into the Thousand Oaks office a minimum of three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays).  The role will report to a member of Anchor’s C-Suite or CEO, with a dotted line to the majority-owner company’s CHRO.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create the core Human Capital framework to ensure efficient and effective service delivery and execution of day-to-day employee and business needs

  • Lead and oversee the company’s recruiting strategies and process including recruiter management and oversight (employees, shared services staff, or 3rd party vendors, as appropriate) to ensure workforce readiness and a diverse talent base to meet the current and future needs of a dynamic and agile workforce.

  • Development of cost effective and creative talent recruitment and development strategies, including recruiting from other industries and adjacent sectors, and developing career paths across functions within the company to promote employee growth and development within Anchor

  • Evaluate recruiting success and develop and execute initiatives to improve recruiting strategy and process.

  • Develop strategies to reduce undesired attrition and improve retention for our workforce – including employees and contractors

  • Establish trusted relationships with Anchor’s leaders to optimize people and talent outcomes in their functions and businesses through regular and impactful communication and feedback

  • Lead organizational design and development to shape the company’s culture and purpose, ensuring an engaged and motivated workforce

  • Assess, develop, and lead the HR team, contributing to the growth and development of HR professionals

  • Work in partnership with the Enterprise Head of People Services and her team to deliver Enterprise-wide results in recruiting, talent management, and benefits.

  • Assess company culture and develop and execute a plan to make Anchor a Great Place to Work in its region and industry

  • Partner with finance and analytics to create a comprehensive set of human capital analytics, and take actions to improve metrics over time e.g., undesirable turnover, eNPS score, labor productivity, and labor costs

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of Strategic Human Capital Leadership Experience

  • Substantial Human Capital experience building and managing multi-location teams driving organizational success and fostering a collaborative work environment

  • Demonstrated success with building strong end-to-end retention strategies through assessment, employee development, and overall lifecycle across all company functions including sales, operations, risk management, and administration

  • Ability to combine strategic and business acumen with the ability to drive execution of a Human Capital agenda that is tightly linked with Anchor’s strategic vision and priorities

  • Strong executive presence and excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and an orientation toward making decisions based on data with demonstrated ability to effectively develop, interpret, and report on relevant HR data to senior management

  • Experience with and desire to build a great business. This is not an optimizing role – it is a building and development role taking a nascent group of HR professionals and developing a great HR team

  • This is a player coach role and the person should be as comfortable creating documents and taking direct actions, as they are directing others and collaborating to achieve shared goals

  • Ability to collaborate effectively, persuade, and gain buy-in and trust from a broad range of stakeholders and serve as a sounding board and advisor to senior management, with experience providing perspectives and sound judgment on HR matters

  • Familiarity with California employment laws and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of HR management

  • Experience with utilizing Workday is a plus

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position which requires in office reporting to Anchor’s Thousand Oaks office on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Remote work is optional Monday and Friday.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is $200,000 to $225,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
