Edmund Lim has extensive work experience in various roles within the IT industry. Edmund started their career at Hewlett-Packard in 1998, working in the Medical Equipment Engineering Department. After that, they served as a Signal Specialist Platoon Leader in the Singapore Armed Forces from 2000 to 2002.
In 2006, Edmund joined Queensland University of Technology as a Systems Specialist and later took on the role of Senior Systems Specialist focusing on security. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Technical Leader at the university, specializing in System Security, Virtualization Technologies, and Disaster Recovery Planning.
Edmund joined Arrow Energy in 2011 and has held several positions since then. Their roles at Arrow Energy include Infrastructure Architect, Technology Architect, and Strategy and Architecture Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for designing and implementing ICT infrastructure, coordinating technology evaluation and deployment, and leading a team of IT architects. Edmund was also the Chief Architect and Chair of the Architecture Review Committee, overseeing IT designs, standards, and direction.

Edmund Lim completed their education with a series of degrees and diplomas. Edmund first attended Temasek Polytechnic from 1997 to 2000, where they pursued an Associate's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at QUT (Queensland University of Technology) from 2002 to 2004, earning a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology. Additionally, they pursued Honours at QUT from 2004 to 2005, specializing in Information Technology at the Cyber Security Research Centre.
