Michael Trestl

Michael Trestl was born on September 18, 1985 in Vienna.

After graduating in business management and a master’s degree in tourism management, he earned his doctorate in economics from the University of Salzburg and the University of Latvia in Riga. In 2011, he began his career in the Lufthansa Group in the corporate development department at Edelweiss Air AG in Zurich, which he headed from 2014 to 2017. During his time there, he conceptualized and designed the growth strategy of the Swiss leisure airline. Trestl then moved to Swiss International Air Lines and took over management of the strategy department and the CEO office. From 2018 to 2020, as Head of Network Management, Michael Trestl was responsible for the network planning of the Swiss flag carrier. With the beginning of the Corona Pandemic, he also took over the management of the restart program "RESTART Commercial",

Michael Trestl has been a member of the Executive Board of Austrian Airlines as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) since January 1, 2021. In his function, he is responsible for the divisions Network Management & Revenue Steering, Sales, IT and Austrian Brand Experience.
