Robert Tafner

Head of Research & Development at AVL DiTEST

Robert Tafner has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and years. Robert started their career as a Research Intern at AVL in 2008, followed by a role as a Development Engineer at AVL from 2008 to 2010. Robert then joined Alpen-Adria-Universität as a Project Scientist from 2010 to 2014. During the same period, they also worked as a Project Scientist at Graz University of Technology from July to October 2014. In 2014, they joined AVL DiTEST GmbH as a Research Engineer until October 2015 and later became a Project Manager from November 2015 to January 2018. From February 2018 to May 2022, they served as a Program Manager Automotive Measurement Technologies at AVL DiTEST GmbH. Currently, they hold the position of Head of Research & Development at AVL DiTEST GmbH since May 2022. Additionally, they are a Lecturer at FH Joanneum since October 2021.

Robert Tafner completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Telematics from Technische Universität Graz from 2002 to 2008. Following that, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Control Engineering from Technische Universität Graz from 2010 to 2015.
