Elena Popovici

Elena Popovici has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Elena currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Awesense, a role they assumed in August 2020. Prior to that, from January to July 2020, they worked as the Head of Data Science at the same company. Earlier in 2020, they were an Executive In Residence at the Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre. From 2018 to 2019, Elena held the position of Senior Computer Scientist and Project Lead at Neurio Technology Inc. Elena'scareer also includes a long tenure at Icosystem, where they worked from 2006 to 2017 as a Senior Complexity Scientist and Project & Client Manager. In 1999, they started their career as a Software Developer at ARTINFO SRL.

Elena Popovici earned their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universitatea "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" din Iași in 1999. Elena then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institution, which they completed in 2000. Following this, they attended George Mason University from 2000 to 2006, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science.
