Shawn Alter

Shawn Alter is a medical affairs professional with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. As of November 2020, Shawn holds the position of Director of Medical Affairs at Axsome Therapeutics, Inc., previously serving as the Associate Director and Senior Medical Science Liaison. Prior to this role, Shawn was a Medical Science Liaison at SAGE Therapeutics and a Senior Associate at Charles River Associates, where strategic and analytical guidance for CNS disorders and rare diseases was provided. Earlier career experiences include consulting in biotechnology strategy and analytics at C1 Consulting, postdoctoral research at Emory University focusing on Parkinsonian neurodegeneration, and a research assistantship in hematology-oncology at Case Western Reserve University.
