Barbara Correia

Barbara Correia is a Principal Research Scientist at B-hive Innovations Ltd since January 2019, where active involvement in senior management supports the company's research and development goals. Leading projects such as TuberSense and TuberGene, Barbara identifies new opportunities within the agritech field. Previous roles include Research Scientist and Agri-Tech Development Scientist at B-hive, engaged in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project focused on detecting internal defects in potatoes. Additional experience includes positions as a Visiting Researcher and KTP Associate at the University of the West of England, as well as Research Fellow roles at CESAM and CEBAL, where Barbara contributed to various projects in plant biochemistry and metabolism. Educational achievements comprise a PhD in Biological Sciences, Master's, and Bachelor's degrees from Universidade de Aveiro, alongside leadership training through the Future Leaders Fellows Development Network and a management course at Ashorne Hill Management College.
