Ted Tang has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Ted started their career as a Helpdesk Analyst at MGIC in 1991 and then worked as a Network Administrator at Wisconsin Natural (We Energies) from 1993 to 1995. Ted subsequently joined Guaranty Bank FSB as a Network Engineer & Supervisor, where they handled Novell NetWare server administration and connectivity to Fiserv. In 1999, they briefly served as a Course Instructor at Waukesha County Technical College.
In the year 2000, Ted worked as part of the Security Team & Advanced Helpdesk at Wipro GE Medical Systems and as a Network Engineer at Lockheed Martin. From 2001 to 2009, they were a Sr Network Analyst at Modine Manufacturing Company, where they provided support for their Cisco LAN/WAN worldwide network. During this time, they also configured routers and CSU for WAN connectivity and resolved telco-related issues.
In 2010, Ted ventured into retail by owning and managing Gorilla Games, a retail store. Ted handled various responsibilities including POS registers, security cameras, credit card transactions, and customer service. Ted also performed repair work on gaming consoles.
In 2009, Ted joined Froedtert Health as a Sr Network Administrator, where they were responsible for installing and supporting a Cisco LAN/WAN network. Ted worked with a variety of technologies including L3 switching, firewalls, wireless systems, and network management tools. Ted also had experience with AWS, Azure, Solarwinds, load balancing, VMware, Citrix, VoIP, QoS, and various routing protocols.
Currently, Ted is working at Badger Meter as a Network Engineer. Their role involves managing an international manufacturing data network and migrating VPN connections to different platforms. Ted has also introduced SAML authentication with Azure.
Throughout their career, Ted Tang has gained extensive experience and knowledge in network engineering and administration, with expertise in various technologies and systems.
Ted Tang earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where they studied from 1990 to 1991. Prior to that, they obtained their High School Diploma from the New Trier High School District, where they attended from 1980 to 1985.
In addition to their formal education, Ted Tang has also obtained several certifications. Ted holds a Ham Radio Technician License from the Federal Communications Commission, which they obtained in December 2019. Furthermore, they are a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA), certified by Cisco since July 2007. Lastly, Ted Tang has a GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from the SANS Institute, which they obtained in the year 2000.
