Andrew Harper has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Andrew started their career in 1984 as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Steensen Varming Mulcahy & Partners, where they worked until 1988. From 1991 to 1993, they served as the Head of Conservation at Summerlee Heritage Trust. Andrew then joined Environmental Services Design as a Partner in 1993 and remained with the company until 2012. In 2013, Andrew worked as a Freelance Electrical Design Engineer at DSSR for a brief period before joining West Lothian Council as an Electrical Design Engineer. Andrew has been with West Lothian Council since then. Most recently, Andrew joined Arcola Energy in 2021 as an Electrical Engineer. Throughout their career, they also volunteered at the Scottish Railway Preservation Society.
Andrew Harper attended Royal High School in Edinburgh from 1958 to 1971. Andrew then continued their education at Heriot-Watt University from 1971 to 1975, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree.
