Clarence J. Snuggs Sr.

Clarence J. Snuggs Sr. has an extensive work experience in the field of housing and community development. Clarence J. currently serves as the SVP and Chief Operating Officer at Baltimore Community Lending since April 2021. Prior to this, they were the Director at Montgomery County Department of Housing and Community Affairs (DHCA) from January 2015 to December 2018. Clarence J. also held the position of Deputy Secretary and Acting Secretary at Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) from March 2007 to January 2015.

Before joining DHCD, Clarence worked as the Local Office Director at Enterprise Foundation from February 2003 to December 2006. Clarence J. also served as the Deputy Executive Director/Corporate Treasurer at Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation from 1998 to 2003. Earlier in their career, Clarence held the role of Vice President at Signet Bank from January 1994 to December 1997 and at Maryland National Bank from 1977 to 1994.

Clarence J. Snuggs Sr. holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Winston-Salem State University. Clarence J. also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from Howard University.

In addition to their degrees, Clarence J. Snuggs Sr. has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Clarence J. received a Certificate of Completion from Leadership Montgomery in 2017, and a Certificate of Completion from Leadership Maryland in 2013. Furthermore, they completed a program called Senior Executives in State and Local Government at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2009, earning a Certificate of Completion.
