Yolo Akili Robinson

Yolo Akili Robinson has a diverse work experience in the field of mental and emotional health care, with a focus on marginalized communities. They are the Founder & Executive Director of BEAM (Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective), where they work towards removing barriers to Black healing through training, education, advocacy, and art-based activism. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Project Manager at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, overseeing a multi-million dollar study aimed at improving health outcomes for young men of color. Yolo also worked as a Capacity Building Trainer at AIDS United, providing training on behavioral health interventions. They have experience in facilitating support groups and spaces for patients, as well as managing training efforts and coordinating logistics. Yolo's work history also includes roles as a Regional Training Coordinator/Family Intervention Counselor at Men Stopping Violence and as a Prevention Specialist- Life Support Counselor at NATIONAL AIDS EDUCATION AND SERVICES, where they facilitated counseling services and support for marginalized communities.

Yolo Akili Robinson obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in African-American/Black Studies from Georgia State University from 2003 to 2005. Yolo also received a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) certification in Hatha Yoga from Yoga of India.
