Head Of Data & Business Intelligence at Begbies Traynor

Neil Ashworth has over 25 years of work experience in various roles related to data, business intelligence, and IT. Neil'smost recent position is as the Head of Data & Business Intelligence at Begbies Traynor Group since October 2022.

Prior to this, Neil worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from October 2018 to October 2022 as the Enterprise Reporting Lead. In this role, they were responsible for leading the firm's centralized business intelligence and data integrations teams. Neil utilized Microsoft SQL Server 2019 full BI Stack and Snaplogic Intelligent data platform to deliver analytics to global finance teams and performance metrics to over 2500 lawyers and fee earners globally.

Before that, Neil worked as a Data Warehouse Consultant at LMS (Legal Marketing Services) from January 2018 to July 2018. Neil was the technical lead in a project to design and build a new greenfield data warehouse using SQL Server 2016. Neil also developed ETL processes and analytical cubes to deliver self-service reporting.

From 2013 to 2017, Neil held multiple roles at Baines & Ernst. Neil started as the Head of IT from July 2016 to August 2017, where they expanded the data warehouse footprint and implemented data retention policies. Neil then transitioned into the role of Data/BI Architect from January 2013 to June 2016, where they managed a team and implemented a management information roadmap.

Neil's earlier experience includes working as a Group MIS Developer at Vernacare from 2004 to 2013, where they designed and developed a data warehouse and implemented sales reporting solutions. Neil also worked as a Data Analyst at Vernacare from 2004 to 2009.

Prior to Vernacare, Neil worked as a Group Business Systems Analyst at Dukefield Group Ltd from 2000 to 2004, and as an IT Support Team Leader at Boise Cascade Office Products from 1996 to 2000.
