Design Studio Director at Bellroy

Tara Findlay has over 25 years of experience in the fashion industry. Tara began their career in 1993 as a Pattern Maker for Sportscraft Ladies, where they developed patterns in Lectra and created and maintained specification sheets. In 2000, they joined M Webster Holdings as a Production Coordinator for the David Lawrence label, where they arranged production and delivery with domestic contractors, coordinated cut work and trims for work orders, and conducted quality control of finished production. In 2001, they worked as a Pattern Maker for Fletcher Jones & Staff Pty Ltd, patterning for the ladieswear line using Gerber software and collaborating with an offsite grading team. From 2002-2003, they worked as a Pattern Cutter for Alberta Theatre Projects and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, hand drafting blocks to actors measurements and patterning and cutting costumes for plays and the Summer Arts Festival. In 2004, they joined Arc'teryx Equipment as Manager, Fit and Pattern Engineering, Manager, Technical Services, and Patternmaking Manager, respectively. Tara established and maintained brand fit, product construction standards, and pattern engineering practices, coordinated global fit studies with third party vendors, and oversaw Production Pattern/Grading and Sample Cutting teams. Tara also worked as a Product Developer for Mark's Work Wearhouse, working with offshore factories to develop prototype and size run garments and developing measurement charts for products. In 2018, Tara Findlay joined Bellroy as Design Studio Director and Pattern Designer.

Tara Findlay completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Fashion at RMIT University from 1990 to 1992. Tara then attended the Justice Institute of British Columbia from 2015 to 2017, where they earned an Associate Certificate in Training and Facilitation. From 2010 to 2015, they took Executive Education Courses at UBC Sauder School of Business.
