Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in test planning and execution for new and existing features of web and mobile applications.

  • Create and maintain test cases based on product requirements and user stories.

  • Perform manual testing for functional, usability, and regression testing.

  • Identify, report, and track defects using bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers to understand product features and ensure comprehensive test coverage.

  • Participate in daily standups and sprint planning sessions with the development and QA teams.

  • Contribute to test automation efforts by writing and maintaining test scripts (depending on experience and skills).

  • Assist in analyzing test results, providing feedback, and suggesting improvements to enhance product quality.

  • Help improve the QA process by identifying areas for automation and process optimization.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field at a Canadian post secondary institution.

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for quality and software testing.

  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and basic QA methodologies.

  • Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) is a plus but not required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Prior internship or project experience related to software development or QA is a plus.

Preferred Skills (Bonus Points):

  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, or similar).

  • Knowledge of web and mobile application testing.

  • Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git).

The pay rate for this role CAD$45.00 per hour.
