Matthew D. Johnson

Matthew D. Johnson serves as the Director of Clinical Training and Professor of Psychology at Binghamton University, where significant contributions to the Clinical Psychology Program and research on marital distress and dissolution have been made. Johnson has held various leadership roles, including Chair of the Department of Psychology, known for its national reputation and academic excellence, and Deputy to the President, where involvement in university governance and community engagement occurred. In addition to academic roles, Johnson operates a private practice as a licensed psychologist, specializing in Couple and Family Psychology through video conferencing. Further involvement in the field includes a fellowship with the American Psychological Association and volunteer work with Rise-NY, an organization providing domestic violence services. Johnson holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from UCLA and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Denver.
