Edward Jenkins is an experienced avian biologist currently coordinating the River Point Bird Observatory at the Biodiversity Research Institute since February 2020. Edward's work involves studying the interactions between wildlife and offshore wind energy development, alongside conducting various fieldwork projects in Maine and beyond. Edward holds a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Manitoba and possesses a strong background in avian research through roles at institutions such as BirdLife Malta, the International Birding and Research Centre Eilat, and the National Audubon Society. Previous research experiences include studies on seabird diets, endangered seabird conservation, and migratory bird patterns, reflecting a deep commitment to avian ecology and conservation.
