Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a Senior Director, Supply Chain, to join our team! The Senior Director, Supply Chain will be responsible for directing overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, vendor selection, material forecasting, capacity planning and sourcing, master scheduling, inventory control, and financial costing. Additionally, this role will develop and implement business strategies to ensure critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals while providing leadership and direction to the procurement team.

The Senior Director, Supply Chain, reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

What You’ll Do:

  • Directs the activities of all functions involved in purchasing, planning, scheduling, warehousing, and control of materials.
  • Develop strategies, policies, and procedures for supplier selection, negotiations, bid management, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and improve sourcing strategy.
  • Manage the team focusing on team goals, roadblocks, performance, and career development.
  • Develop supplier standards and networks in support of the organization’s standards for price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
  • Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and identify areas of improvement.
  • Manage the end-to-end spending by developing appropriate strategies aligned with market trends and growth within the organization.
  • Be the subject matter expert by developing deep technical, commercial, and market insights into equipment and services. Maintain documented category management strategies.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals.
  • Participate in developing, developing bids, and supporting the estimation teams with relevant pricing data for current and future projects.
  • Analyze all suppliers to select the most suitable suppliers who deliver high-quality products at competitive pricing.
  • Monitor pricing indices of raw materials to determine optimal procurement timing of commodities such as wire and steel for racking foundations.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on the lead time, cost, and quality to obtain maximum benefit for the company.
  • Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule, and quality.
  • Develop, implement, and drive procurement strategies to meet cost savings targets.
  • Perform regular performance reviews with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.
  • Create monthly performance reviews and reports focusing on overall sourcing requirements.
  • Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
  • Adopt appropriate supplier management methodologies and procurement strategies in purchasing and contracting.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, and managing logistics professionals.
  • Collaborates with appropriate Construction Team and other stakeholders to provide a clear operating picture for all functions in planning and executing logistics operations.
  • Reviews and manages the process of receiving and documenting deliveries and correctly determining the value of materials at each phase of the supply chain.
  • Facilitates the evaluation of supplier performance and shares insights with Supply Chain and Procurement leadership.
  • Audits the confirmation and approvals for invoices of material in ERP/accounting software as deliveries are verified onsite.
  • Coordinates with accounting to ensure any material moving between sites is captured and those costs are reallocated to the correct projects.
  • Leads the execution of quarterly project inventories for financial accounting and revenue recognition.
  • Support Estimating and Preconstruction by providing pricing and vendor information.
  • Work with Risk Management to ensure that all contracts are compliant including pre-qualification, bonds, and insurance meet requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance on best practices and trends emerging in logistics and supply chain management.

Must-Haves:

  • 15+ years’ experience in Procurement and Logistics management.
  • Experience in the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) industry.
  • Proven track record of team leadership, negotiation skills, and optimization/cost reduction of procurement operations.
  • Knowledge of Procurement software and construction management software.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including advanced use of MS Excel.
  • Experience leading successful project teams, including employee development and maintaining relationships with external entities.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite, including advanced use of MS Excel.
  • Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively work with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving ability.
  • Possess integrity and commitment to compliance.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • A strong work ethic, a high degree of detail orientation, and an extreme sense of urgency.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is required.
  • Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field is preferred. 

Working Environment and Physical Demand:

  • This position can be remote, preferably within comfortable traveling distance to one of our BRP office locations in Asheville, or Fayetteville, NC. 
  • Travel Requirements: 25-35%
  • Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license required.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to comply with all company safety standards and procedures, including OSHA requirements.
  • Must follow organization policies and procedures.
  • Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
