Harald Weinstabl has a diverse work experience in the field of medicinal chemistry. Harald began their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Vienna in 2011, followed by a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Toronto in 2012. In 2013, they joined Boehringer Ingelheim as a Principal Scientist, where they led a team of synthetic chemists in the Research Laboratory Head Medicinal Chemistry role. Harald then took on the role of Project Lead Oncology, leading a team of up to 25 scientists. In 2019, Harald became a Scientific Director - Group Leader at Boehringer Ingelheim, where they led and increased the productivity of a group of medicinal chemistry labs. Currently, they serve as the VP - Head of Medicinal Chemistry, leading a team of 80+ Medicinal Chemists in the field of Cancer Research with a strong focus on Structure Based Drug Design.
Harald Weinstabl obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry of Materials and Organic Chemistry from Technische Universität Wien in 2006. Harald then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Organic Chemistry at the University of Vienna, completing it in 2011. In 2012-2013, they undertook a Postdoc position in Organic Chemistry at the University of Toronto. In terms of additional certifications, they acquired a certificate from the Swiss School on Medicinal Chemistry, offered by the Swiss Chemical Society, in 2016. Harald also obtained a certification from the Oxford English School at St. Hughs School in 1994.
