Alex Pashevich is a Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Borealis AI since September 2022, previously serving as a Machine Learning Researcher. As a PhD Candidate at Inria from September 2017 to October 2021, Alex published five papers at top-tier conferences across diverse domains such as imitation and reinforcement learning, robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, transformers, multimodal learning, and sim2real transfer. A notable research internship at Google from September 2020 to March 2021 resulted in a 74% improvement in a Vision Language Navigation task through the development of a multimodal transformer architecture, which was published at the ICCV conference. Earlier work at Inria in 2016 included inventing an outlier detection algorithm that employed Gaussian mixture models, co-authoring a publication in the Pattern Recognition Letters journal. Alex holds a PhD in Computer Science from Université Grenoble Alpes, a Master's degree from Grenoble INP - UGA, and a Bachelor's degree from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
