Yaşar Sarcan

Yaşar Sarcan has extensive work experience in the field of information security and IT infrastructure. Yaşar began their career as a Network & System Engineer at Dokuz Eylul University in 1999 and worked there until 2004. Yaşar then joined Ford Motor Company as a Network & Security Engineer from 2004 to 2005, before taking on the role of Senior Security Supervisor from 2005 to 2009. In 2007, they joined Koç Holding A.Ş. as an Information Security Leader for two years. From 2009 to 2015, they worked as a Group Information Security Manager at Borusan Holding, and later progressed to the position of Group Information Security & Network Infrastructure Senior Manager until 2018. From 2018 onwards, they held the role of Director of Group Information Security & GRC at Borusan Holding, and most recently, in 2023, they became the Director of Group IT Infrastructure & Information Security & IT. Throughout their career, they have been responsible for defining information security strategies, managing investments and budgets, and overseeing cyber and network security operations.

Yaşar Sarcan holds a Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Dokuz Eylul University, which they earned from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in the same field from Dokuz Eylul University between 1994 and 1999. Yaşar also obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Maltepe University during the academic year of 2009-2010. In addition to their academic degrees, Sarcan has several certifications in the field of information security, including CISSP® (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) from (ISC)², ISO/IEC 27001 LA (Lead Auditor) from BSI, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), CSA (Certified Security Analyst), and LPT (Licensed Penetration Tester) from EC-Council, as well as CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) from Cisco and Expert Green Belt - Lean 6 Sigma Project Management from Borusan Holding.
