Kristen King has a diverse range of work experience in the field of social work. Kristen started their career as a Medical Social Worker at Holland Hospital Home Health Services in 2008 and later joined Fresenius Medical Care in 2010 in the same role. In 2016, they worked as a Social Worker at the University of Michigan Metro Health.

In 2018, Kristen joined UW Health as a Liver Transplant Social Worker, where they worked until December 2021. Kristen then transitioned to the role of Behavioral Health Therapist at American Oncology Network, LLC from December 2021 to May 2022.

Kristen then pursued their Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Social Work at Grand Valley State University from 2004 to 2008. In addition to their academic qualifications, Kristen King holds several certifications, including Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licenses from multiple states such as Massachusetts, New Jersey, Indiana, Rhode Island, Utah, Delaware, and North Carolina. Kristen also obtained a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) license from the State of Michigan in 2008 and a Certified Child Trauma and Traumatic Stress Specialist (CCTSW) certification from STSW in September 2020.
