Social Volcanology Phd Researcher at British Geological Survey

Cecilia Reed is an accomplished academic and communicator specializing in geography and earth sciences. Currently serving as a Social Volcanology PhD Researcher at the British Geological Survey since February 2020, Cecilia also acts as a Research Collaborator for the 'Landscapes of the Mind' project. In addition, Cecilia has been an Onscreen Expert Communicator for the BBC since November 2016, and has been a Presenter and Learning Officer at The Royal Parks since July 2021, where geographical educational content is produced for various audiences. Other notable roles include Postgraduate Fellow at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and Geography Tutor at Expert Tuition Limited. Earlier experience includes producing audio content as a Volcano Journalist at UCL and creating a web series on geology for the Raindance Film Festival. Cecilia holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Geography from the University of Cambridge and has degrees in Earth Sciences and Society from UCL and Digital Film and Screen Arts from the University for the Creative Arts.
