Volcanology - Hazards And Risk at British Geological Survey

Melanie Duncan is an experienced volcanologist specializing in hazards and risk at the British Geological Survey since April 2015. Prior to this role, Melanie served as an independent consultant for Disaster Risk Reduction from July 2014 to March 2015, collaborating with organizations like the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and UNISDR. From 2009 to June 2014, Melanie was an EngD researcher at University College London, focusing on multi-hazard assessments for disaster risk reduction. Earlier experience includes serving as a Flood Incident Management Team Member with the Environment Agency from February 2008 to March 2009. Melanie holds a Doctor of Engineering degree and an MSc in Geophysical Hazards from UCL, along with a BSc (Hons) in Geography from the University of St Andrews.
