Matthew Piva is a Venture Director at Cambrian Biopharma. He was previously an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, where he served a variety of clients in R&D and portfolio strategy topics, including large pharma, biotechs, and pharma services companies. He completed his PhD in neuroscience as a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada Fellow at Yale University, where he performed behavioral pharmacology and functional magnetic resonance imaging studies to examine the neural basis of social cognition and associated disorders. During his time in graduate school, Matthew also worked at the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, where he advised student startups from across the university. He also founded Yale’s 3-Minute Thesis Competition and chaired Yale’s Professional Development Committee for graduate students.
