John Cottrell has a diverse work experience in the marketing field. John started their career at the National Blood Service in 1999 as a Marketing Co-ordinator, where they focused on increasing the number of blood donors in North London and Hertfordshire. In 2001, they joined the Campaign for Real Ale, initially as a Membership Marketing Officer and later progressed to become the Head of Membership. In this role, they were responsible for strategic planning, recruitment and retention, service delivery, statistical reporting, and data protection.
John Cottrell attended London Metropolitan University from 1995 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. In 2013, they also completed a course on the Data Protection Act ISEB at The Chartered Institute for IT. Furthermore, in 2014, they pursued further education in project management by completing the PRINCE 2 Foundation and Practitioner program at Knowledge Academy.
