Christopher Richter has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the mining industry. Starting in 2004, they worked at Barrick Gold Corporation as a Manager and later as a Senior Manager, focusing on capital allocation and strategy. Christopher then joined AuRico Gold Inc. in 2010, where they served as the VP and later SVP of Corporate Development. In 2015, they co-founded AuRico Metals Inc., leading its spin-off from AuRico Gold and serving as its President and CEO. During this time, they secured environmental approvals and completed royalty transactions. In 2018, they joined JCM Power as a Co-Leader of Acquisitions and in 2021, they took on the role of Chief Development Officer at Mantos Copper. Currently, they hold the position of SVP of Corporate Development at Capstone Copper.
Christopher Richter holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics & Political Science from the University of Waterloo, which they obtained in the period between 1998 and 2003. In 2007, they attained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics from the University of Toronto. Additionally, they obtained the CFA Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute in 2007.
