Professor Damian Walford Davies is Pro Vice-Chancellor, College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Professor Walford Davies is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the College. He plays a key role in setting the strategy and direction of the College and in promoting the development of learning and teaching and research excellence. As Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Walford Davies is also a member of the University Executive Board.

Professor Walford Davies served as the first Chair of Literature Wales – one of Wales’s seven national arts companies – from 2012 to 2018. He is a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales.

His recent work includes publications on Samuel Taylor Coleridge, shipwreck and trauma; John Keats’s wrestling with the disease that killed him; an edited collection that explores Roald Dahl’s formative relation to Wales, Roald Dahl: Wales of the Unexpected; and the poetry collection Judas.
