Socorro Portella

Socorro Portella's work experience includes serving as the Vice President of Clinical Development at Caribou Biosciences since August 2022. Prior to this, Socorro held various roles at Novartis, including Sr. Global Clinical Leader in Oncology Clinical Development, Country Medical Director, Head of Medical Affairs, and Medical Manager. Socorro also worked as the Oncology Fellowship Scientific Coordinator at Instituto do Câncer Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho from January 2000 to June 2002.

Socorro Portella has an extensive education history. Socorro obtained their MBA in Executivo Internacional from FIA - Fundação Instituto de Administração between 2007 and 2009. Prior to that, they completed a Fellowship in Clinical Oncology at Instituto do Câncer Arnaldo Vieira de Carvalho, SP, Brazil from 1995 to 1998. Socorro also pursued a specialization in Family Medicine at Irmandade Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo from 1992 to 1995. Socorro Portella holds a degree in Medicine from Universidade do Estado do Pará, which they obtained between 1986 and 1991. In addition, they have recently obtained a certification in "The Leader's Guide to Mindfulness (getAbstract Summary)" from LinkedIn in 2021.
