Nick Watts has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Nick started their career at the Ohio Supercomputer Center as a Programmer, where they developed object-oriented programs and taught high school students. Nick then moved on to Columbus State Community College as an Adjunct Instructor, teaching classes on A+ and Server+ content. After that, they worked at TRECA as a Cisco Networking Academy Instructor, training instructors across four states and implementing Cisco's "Blended Distance Learning" program. Nick also had a role as a Creator & Curator at Mashed Code Magazine, where they accompanied the CodeMash conference. Later, they joined Ohio Mutual Insurance Group as a Senior Programmer/Analyst, where they developed an insurance web application and provided technical leadership. Nick also had roles at NFJS, The Magazine as a Technical Editor, and Manning Publications Co. as a Technical Proofer and Technical Development Editor. Currently, Nick is working at CAS as a Lead Data Engineer, having previously held positions as a Data Engineer and Software Engineer.
Nick Watts completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The Ohio State University from 1997 to 2003. Nick then pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Franklin University, which they received from 2006 to 2011. Prior to their university education, Nick attended Bucyrus High School from 1993 to 1997. Additionally, they obtained certifications such as AWS Certified Developer - Associate in July 2023 and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in September 2021 from Amazon Web Services (AWS).
