Khursheed Anwer

Khursheed Anwer is the Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer at Celsion. Khursheed has over 25 years of experience in the biotech and pharmaceutical industries. Khursheed has a strong track record in the development and commercialization of new therapeutics.

Khursheed started their career as a Director at Valentis/Gene Medicine. Khursheed then moved to EGEN, Inc. where they served as Vice President R&D and CSO for seven years. In June 2009, they became President and CSO of EGEN. Khursheed held this position for five years before joining Celsion in June 2014.

Khursheed has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Karachi and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Khursheed Anwer studied business administration and management at The University of Alabama, where they earned an MBA. Khursheed then went on to study physiology and pharmacology at Ohio University, where they earned a Ph.D.

They are on a team with Jeffrey W. Church - Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary, Nicholas Borys - Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer. Khursheed Anwer reports to Michael H. Tardugno, Chairman, President & CEO.
